Doree's Story
Hi, my name is Doree and I want to let anyone who has Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome know that there is still hope!
I have struggled with the symptoms of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome such as muscle pain, stiffness, and brain fog for almost four years now. I went from being the caretaker of my family to being withdrawn, depressed, and mentally out to lunch. Previously, I had always been so healthy (walking two miles a day) and happy, was seldom ever sick and was always playing with my kids. Then I became sick and tired all the time. Getting out of bed in the morning was the worst feeling, and the fatigue was relentless. Sleeping was a problem since my whole body hurt, and I would often stay up for almost thirty-six hours at a time. I was really getting hopeless. Life became miserable. Finally, after two years of doctor visits and blood work that always came back normal, a doctor said I had Fibromyalgia. I was given some literature on the illness and some pain killers along with some anti-depressants and was sent on my way (see ya in six months!).
One night I was up for about twenty-four hours and in pain, I prayed and asked God to help me beat this thing. It was mastering me. I then went on the Internet and searched for Fibromyalgia treatments and the Fibromyalgia & Fatigue Centers website popped up. I saw there was a center in Philadelphia (King of Prussia) and called them right away.
The staff at the Philadelphia center is the best, and my family and I are grateful for them. They understood my condition, answered my questions and offered hope and treatments that worked. My doctor visits were long, and she really listened, testing me for viruses, bacteria and yeast infections. Finally some answers!
I have been going there for three months now and the IV treatments and supplements are really helping. My pain and stiffness has started to decrease, and my inflammation is gone. I can put my shoes and socks on again, instead of wearing my slippers. I am starting to sleep again and laugh and play with my husband and children. My depression has lifted along with the brain fog.
I am regaining my strength with every visit to FFC. Yes, I am beating Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome!
