Dr. Stevens graduated Cum Laude from Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1977 and brings more than 28 years of clinical experience. After graduating, he started a private practice in Family and Emergency (ER) Medicine. Later, he completed residencies in ER Medicine at the University Hospital, in Jacksonville, Florida and Anesthesia at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, presiding as Chief Resident in his field at both locations. After serving as the Medical Director for the Surgical Intensive Care Unit and the Nurse Anesthesia School at Bay Medical Center, in Panama City, Florida, he was later appointed as Head of the Anesthesia Department; he concurrently served as Examiner for Board Certification for the American Association of Osteopathic Specialists. For eight years, he acted as Head of Department of Anesthesia at Woodland Heights Medical Center in Lufkin, Texas and served two years as an Assistant Professor at the University of Houston in the Nurse Anesthesia School, providing training for CRNA students in his active practice in Lufkin. Dr. Stevens enthusiastically ended his retirement to join FFC in November of 2005. |
